We join the call of citizens around the world in limiting global temperature increase to 1.5°C, and in pushing nations to raise their climate ambition and commitments in reducing domestic greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).
PUSH FOR 1.5°C
CREST’s policy work supports the decarbonization of the Philippine power industry and other key sectors. We strive to promote the adoption of more variable renewable energy and flexible plants utilizing indigenous resources as a viable replacement to dirty, high-risk and expensive base load plants, such as coal-fired power and nuclear plants.
We participate in international and regional climate policy spaces to push “common but differentiated responsibilities” and to push developed nations and corporations to act more in addressing the climate crisis.
COMMUNITY RESILIENCE
Our post-disaster relief and recovery work is anchored in enhancing the capacity and resilience of disaster affected families to act on future climate induced risks and natural hazards.
Our ongoing work in Typhoon Rai (local name Odette) affected communities is embodied in the spirit of multi-sectoral collaboration and community-led response.
