Admin and Finance Officer
The Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology (CREST) is a not-for-profit organization working to advance policies and programs on climate and green energy. We provide technical support to cities, communities, and private institutions on renewable energy training, design and engineering, and access to green finance.
We are looking for an Admin and Finance Officer (AFO) to support CREST’s daily operations and assist in the implementation of programs and projects. The AFO will be expected to fulfill administrative and finance support work as well as project-related roles, both of which are outlined in the responsibilities section.
Reports to: President or Managing Trusteee
Works closely with: Project Officers, Bookkeeper, Accountant
Location and compensation
This post is full-time and equivalent to 5 days a week. The post is offered for an initial one-year contract, but may be extended up to 3 years. A hybrid work set-up will be offered: the successful candidate may be required to report to the CREST office in PRRM Building, Mother Ignacia Avenue, Quezon City for a few days each month, as well as do field visits and activities with partners, or work from home when necessary.
Our offer for this post is Philippine Pesos 23,000.00 (gross) plus benefits (accident insurance, vacation leave, maternity/paternity leave, and other employment protection).
Physical requirements
The position comes with some travel requirements locally and abroad, as well as multiple calls that are both local and international. Some of these calls may be outside of regular workhours; therefore, flexibility to take these calls is required. A typical workweek involves deskwork, online or face-to-face meetings, clerical work, errands to government offices and banks, coordination with partners, some event organization, and similar activities.
Responsibilities
- Work with the President/Managing Trustee and Program Officers in ensuring the smooth implementation of CREST’s daily operational and programmatic/project activities;
- Perform daily administrative and finance functions related to the running of a non-profit organization:
- Finance: oversee regular disbursement and liquidation of funds to support daily operations including securing signatures for checks and documents; prepare and submit required forms and vouchers; track budget and budget spending; work with bookkeeper in preparing required reports to government agencies (BIR, SSS, Philhealth and the like) as well as donors; other finance matters;
- Administrative: logistical and programmatic support to activities and events; maintain the smooth operations of CREST’s office; perform other clerical duties necessary to maintain organizational documents and reportorial requirements.
- Support in implementing CREST’s project-related activities, which includes organizing onsite and online events such as trainings and webinars; building and maintaining relationships with various donors and partners; conducting field visits to partner communities, and other similar activities;
- Maintain CREST’s social media pages and general email.
Required qualifications:
- At least one (1) year experience delivering finance and administrative functions, preferably for a non-profit or similar organization;
- Has experience in preparing, managing, and tracking organizational and project budgets and in preparing financial documents necessary for government and donor reporting;
- Demonstrable experience in project management and in performing project-related activities such as organizing trainings, webinars, field activities, and the like;
- Trustworthy, punctual, organized, responsible and disciplined with organizational resources and time; can be trusted to safeguard confidential documents and to manage organizational resources;
- Has experience in managing social media pages;
- Preferably lives in Metro Manila or nearby cities.
Desirable qualifications:
- Knowledgeable in social media campaigning;
- Familiarity with climate and renewable energy issues;
- Good communication skills in English and Filipino, knowledge of an additional Filipino language is a plus;
- Degree or certification related to the job.
